WC7970 - Can not delete Scan templates

After I upgraded the printer software from 072 to 073, I was able to delete the templates.  Thank you.

Theoretically, with no guarantee provided, I can state that in all likelihood, you could just clone the printer minus the template stuff and wipe it, then restore the clone.

Theoretically speaking of course, I am not crazy enough to guarantee it.

Thanks for your quick response Joe.  I will try to update the firmware and try delete the templates again.  I do not want to wipe out the settings/user data though.  It took me a long time to setup that printer to scan to email.

Erase Customer data was not an option in older firmware (start with 071 or 072)

Updating won't lose settings if you install it via the tool we provide (The tool is required when going from 071 to 072 or 072 to 073 releases)

It also may not remove the templates or allow you to do so, there was a bug in one of the 072 releases where if you put anything in the description it would corrupt and make the template unable to be removed. If that is the case, you would need an Altboot to fix it, which would get rid of the templates as well as everything else. The Erase Customer data option does almost the same as an altboot (you lose everything)

Try the update anyway, but if the templates are still there and can't be removed, the machine would need to be wiped (Altboot).

Hi,

I have 2 scan templetes administration.xst and administration\.xst got stuck and I can not delete them.  I want to clear these 2 templates and create new ones.

I read online some posts saying I need to apply firmware to the printer.  Will applying new firmware delete all my settings/configuration? Also on the printer I don't see the option "Erase customer data" anywhere under the Device settings\General...

Please help.
