What worked for me is changing the login information on the CentreWare site.
Login Name: name I use to login to my computer; mine is my email address for my MSN/Hotmail acount
Password: password I use to login to my computer
Share Name: name of folder where my scanned documents are stored (I do not include the pathname)
I hope this helps.
I'm also having an issue with not being able to scan documents to the computer. I just updated to Win 8.1 from Win 7. Worked fine in Win 7. I've checked the xerox site and there doesn't appear to be a separate twain driver as in the past for win products. Any ideas on how to either get correct driver or change settings to make scanner work to save to computer?

All - my scanner works now. I had to change the settings in the Individual Directory.
Previously:
Login Name = TASHA-PC\Tasha
Share Name = TASHA-PC\ScannedDocs
Currently:
Login Name = Tasha
Share Name = ScannedDocs
I hope this helps!
Yes, please. That would be very helpful. The issue has not been fixed for me. I still cannot scan documents.
Greetings,
You don't happen to have the update number(s) you downloaded yesterday that resolved this, do you?
Thanks,
-AndrewM
Great news [for my situation anyway], My windows 8.1 installed an automatic update and the scan to network using SMB is now working. No other changes were made.
Good luck to all . . .
Thank you for that information.

tashahm2,
I am having the same issue scanning from a workcentre 6505 to a recently upgraded 8.1 system. After a lengthy search of the issue, I found a microsoft knowledge base article confirming this is an issue in the 8.1 release and a fix is planned to be released in November. I guess we just need to sit and wait :(
It is the first bullet point under the known issues section:

Any forum moderators - Can you post as a sticky for others to locate more easily?
Hope this is helpful,
