Work Centre 6505 fax works intermittently

I am having a similar issue exept I cannot send or recieve a fax at all. Testing with a standard telephone everything works when I connect the 6505 and try to send a fax it never goes off hook, when I send a fax to it it answers and immediatly hangs up on me.

How does it only work intermittently? Do you also have problems receiving faxes?

We have a 6605 and have intermittent fax receive problems, in that the fax module just does not pick up the phone (apparently it is not sensing the ringing), see my other thread. No solution for me so far, but would be interested if others have the same problem.

Thank you for using the Support Forum. Please take a look at the solution for setting up fax and see if you have the settings set for your configuration.  If this does not help please consider contacting your support centre for further assistance.

My fax is only working  intermittently, I had the cable company come out the line is fine. What should the settings be? Please help.
