WorkCentre 3210 - Network Scanning issue

I currently have 3 Xerox WorkCentre 3210 devices in use here at our establishment. Each device has a handful of different users networked to and associated with them. I have two users who are having issues scanning from the devices to their networked computers. Both users are on Windows 7 as are all of the other users who are utilizing these 3 devices. The two users having the issue are experiencing the exact same issue: From the 3210 control panel we press the Scan button, arrow right to Network Scan then OK, select the desired Username then OK, then OK again for the password. The screen then displays "Connecting...", but it never connects. Eventually the screen will return to the default display. If I return to the computer, re-launch the Xerox Network Scanning software and then go back to the Xerox 3210 and try again it will sometimes work for them and will scan successfully. But shortly thereafter it will begin failing again. Any ideas as to what this might be? I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling all of the Xerox software and drivers several times with absolutley no affect.

maybe a firewall issue?

No, not a firewall issue. I completely diabled the firewalls. Still no change.

Seems like a windows network problem to me.

 

If I understood well, the users tying to scan from the xerox to a shared folder in the windows machines? If so, try to connect to theese shared folders from another computer an see if there is a problem too. Windows 7 have many restrictions in network shares. There is a freeware program aslo, that corrects some registry values and make windows 7, behave like windows xp, witch are more simple that way.

I have one of these machines and 2 computers that use the scan utility. The issue is the way that the Network Scanning is set up. Each installation of the Network Scan utility can have its own setttings. When you click "Refresh" in the utility, it sends new instructions to the WorkCentre on where to go, and which PC to connect to. That's why the others won't work. Only one Network Scan Utility can direct where the prints go to, at a time.

Best Practice: Before your users scan, go in to the Network Scan Utility and Click "Refresh". This tells the printer "Hey, do what THIS computer tells you to now"
