I would like to know if someone has solve the issued with the fax feature disabled
received another tip, indeed the cause can also be the mainboard
if i look in the release notes; general 3.50.01.08 , there is a line :
The Fax feature can no longer be used when it is Disabled
is it this firmware you all have installed? should be fixed though?
I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER XEROX PRODUCT AGAIN - EVER.
After weeks of trying different software options, upgrading firmware, waiting on hold for countless hours with technical support - I was never given the option to bring the printer in for service. Instead, I was assured that it was a software issue on my end.
And now - months later, by happenstance, I come back to this thread to learn that two other people had hardware issues and they were resolved fairly quickly. Meanwhile, I'm now out of warranty on this printer.
Lesson learned - never buy another Xerox product.
And this sham of a "support forum" is a complete joke.
We brought the machine to the service center and they replaced a board. So, this issue really needs a part replacement and nothing we can do by ourselves. All features are now working. But, I am not sure what's going on in there, the IP setting will change periodically as if I have set it to DHCP when in fact I have set it to Static.
Looking through the router, it is also listed as DHCP. I'm very sure I selected Static. In the CentreWare it is listed as "Manually". But in the router it is DHCP. We may send it back to the service center.
I am having this same problem - I've tried everything, no dice. When I populate the fax number and machine name in the configuration, whether through the web UI or on the device itself, it says 'memory cleared', reboots, and I'm back to square one.
Do I have to return this machine to Costco, or does Xerox have anything useful to suggest?
Did you do the firmware update to fix this issue or was it the cause of the issue?
Hi All,
Hoping someone here could help troubleshoot what's going on with the machine. It just came out all of a sudden. We cannot send faxes and cannot receive faxes. When we press the Fax button, it says Fax is disabled. When we enable the fax, we have to enter the fax information, e.g. Fax ID, Fax Number...
After saving the entries, it says "Clearing Memory" and all information entered are erased. So, the Fax stays disabled. We tried entering the information on the CenterWare interface. We can save the entries from there. We can then send a fax from the computer but we cannot receive any Fax. It will just keep on ringing and will not receive it.
After setting the Fax information from the CentreWare, when we go to the machine to send a Fax, the Fax is still disabled. So, there is no way to enable the Fax as it will clear the information entered after saving all the changes. It will also reboot.
Note: I have already upgraded the firmware to the latest. We also tried the fax line on another machine and it's working fine there so the fax line should not be the problem.
Any help/ideas would be much appreciated.
TIA,
Neil
