Re: WorkCentre 5225 Energy Saver

Fabio- where did you find the information about the "known issue faulty power unit" for the WorkCentre 5225? Do you have a source document you could refer me to? Thanks!

Re: WorkCentre 5225 Energy Saver

Thanks for the info. I purchased this machine new in Oct 2008. I do not have any type of service contract. Is this a warranty type situation, and, if so, how would I go about getting the power unit replaced? Thanks!!!!

Re: WorkCentre 5225 Energy Saver

corect, this is know bug... its infact a hardware failure....

seems the first batches of 5225 models were supplied with a faulty powerunit, you need a technician to replace this part...

Re: WorkCentre 5225 Energy Saver

Believe it or not, mine is doing the same thing.  The white energy saving 'button' is getting stuck as it rubs the plastic bezel it's encased in.  I had to take a small blade and carefully trim the poorly molded plastic circle out just a bit to get it to work freely in the hole.  I still have a problem with it getting stuck now and then.  When mine is stuck, a small tap near it on bezel is enough to trigger the switch as it is probably a human hair width from being engaged.  Hope this helps.

WorkCentre 5225 Energy Saver

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

My WorkCentre 5225 is in Energy Saver mode, but pushing the "Energy Saver" button, or any other of the buttons, does not wake the machine up. Any ideas what could be causing this or how to fix it? Thanks!

BTW, the Power Saver/Energy Saver settings are set to 5 minutes for Time to Low Power Mode and 60 minutes Time to Sleep Mode.
