Re: WorkCentre 5655 GMT offset wrong in SMTP header

Cheryl,

Thank you for the response.  I am not having any trouble setting the GMT offset on the device.  The problem is that once it is set, it is not being passed properly to the SMTP header information to provide the correct offset for the time origin of the message body.  As such, when we scan to e-mail the workcentre is using time adjusted for -6 GMT but then passing it to the SMTP header as a 0 offset from GMT making it appear that the message was created six hours earlier than it actually is.  The mail server then sees the 0 offset and applies an additional -6 offset (mail server is located in central US) thereby thowing the creation time in the message body off by 12 hours from actual GMT.  The PDF file of the scanned documents show the correct local creation time based off of the proper GMT offset.

WorkCentre 5655 GMT offset wrong in SMTP header

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

I am having an issue with the GMT offset not being applied properly to the SMTP header in scan to e-mail messages.  Our location is at -6 GMT and that is set in the NTP settings on the WorkCentre.  Turning off the GMT offset causes the time in the WorkCentre to be off by 6 hours.  Any scan to e-mail message generate with a +0000 offset in the SMTP header.  While the PDF file that it generates from the scan has the correct creation time, the message body shows as a -12 GMT.  Below is a sample of the message header (company data/address changed):
