Hi ila_staff.
Support shared the following information:
G3 Mode is a mode for faxing that denotes the speed of transmission of the fax. G3 is a fairly standard operating mode for a printer to be configured to, and is the default for this model. Receive again is a feature that, when enabled, allows the printer to accept (or send) a “Receive again” command from the receiving fax machine if it requests it. This enables a “retransmit” if the receiving fax machine cannot completely interpret the message sent. In the case of your error report, the printer is simply indicating that during the fax, G3 mode was enabled (which is normal) and that a Receive Again request was made, due to the first not being completed properly.
As for the fax mistaking phone calls for faxes you may have line-related issues, and we advise that you contact support as it could be a fault of the device. 1-800-835-6100
Hi ila_staff.
I am doing some research but haven't found anything yet on Mode G3 or Receive Again.
I have found this information in the product knowledge base: Configure the Machine for Sending or Receiving Faxes and it contains a table with Settings and Specifications but still noting on Receive again.

I will continue to research and post what I might find. In the meantime you might want to also search the knowledge base.

Our WorkCentre is set to print periodical fax activity reports. Time and time again I see this text on the report: Mode: G3, Result: Receive Again. What does this mean? There does not seem to be a key or a manual of any kind that indicates what G3 or Receive Again stand for.
We HAVE had issues with the fax mistaking phone calls for faxes before. We are curious if "receive again" indicates instances when the fax is making this mistake.
Does anyone have the same problem or an answer?
Much appreciated.
