Same problem here. I am going mad with trying to figure this out. None of my mail accounts allow old-fashioned communicating over port 25. All the accounts tried keep giving send errors with ssl issues etc.. And I know the details I am supplying to the machine are correct. Firmware is 65.50.61 . For the moment, I am stuck with scan to usb stick, because the smb function also stopped working to our Synology folders.
I have my machine setup the exact same way with all the settings and we still can't connect to the SMTP server. I get Completed with an Error (016-781) : Server Connection Error.
FW Version (with Software Updates turned on): 65.50.61
This issue just started happening for me in past couple of days. everything was woking fine and there has been no changes in my home office network.
Any help would be appriciated.
Go back over the SMTP settings and do it without using Chrome/Edge browser .
Also, make sure the firmware is up to date, because Office365 and Gmail both started a rolling update across their servers in January that has been affecting older firmwares, and may have been the cause of the initial issue you had.
The browser issue will cause the highlighted portions to not actually apply, even though it will state they did.
I have been experiencing the same problem on the same printer and am also strongly interested in a solution!
I am trying to connect to Gmail (smtp.gmail.com / starttls / 587 / smtp auth). Tried also with 465 and without smtp authentification.
Would be great if anybody could help!
Hello,
For several years my 6515 has been able to scan to email and all of a sudden the other day it just stopped.
I checked the SMTP settings and they were all right but I kept getting a login error when I ran the SMTP test. I then proceeded to wipe the machine and start from scratch, it now passes the SMTP test but when I try and end and scan to email it just fails with "Completed with an Error (016-764) : SMTP Server Connection Error.
Does anyone have any ideas? I can post screenshots if needed.
