I updated the unit's software andnow it seems to be working correclty. Very frustrating that this seems to repeatedly occur. I tried again to get it to send to a folder with open access (Everyone), but it won't send to it. The domain and port selection also don't seem to matter.
It works flawlessly on mine, both my personal (18362.175) and my tester (Insider preview 18917)
You either are not on updated firmware or are missing something important in your setup.
If you can't figure it out, switch to FTP
Same result. I am using Firefox.
If the firmware is up to date thewre should be no issue
The format oif the username isn't ever Workgroup\username, it is either:
Domain\User
HostID\User or
user@domain
Don't guess, add the user to the sahre to find out exactly what your share needs (in the brackets)
And if you are trying to change anything with Chrome or the latest version of MS Edge, move to IE or Firefox to correct it.
We are frequently getting the above error when trying to scan accross our network. We used to send to sharedd folders that were open to all, without credentials-then we started getting send errors. We started using credentials, this worked for a while. Now we are getting the above error again. I tried to using port 445 and set up the user name to incldue the Workgroup, but this changes nothing. I tired the Patch to fix MS Spring Creators Update-no effect.
