Removing and re-placing the assembly seemed to solve the problem. Thanks!

However, one suggestion about the instructions:

In Step 5, "Insert the assembly into the printer and push the assembly against the rear bracket," it would be helpful to note that the end of the assembly which is inserted into the rear bracket must fit into a rectangluar opening in order to be fully seated. So the assembly rod may need to be rotated just a bit.

If the lighting is inadequate, or one does not look closely, the rectangular end of the assembly rod might go unnoticed.

Just a thought.

Easy enough to check, just pop it out and take a look, may have not been seated correctly from manufacturing or slightly moved during shipping.

Hopefully that is all that needs to be done, because I got nothing if it doesn't.

I am sensitive to damaged/bent/torn paper and careful about that.

But it also seems to happen with otherwise orderly batches of pages.

(I usually try to do 10 sheets or fewer.)

Humidity is not a problem here. Static electricity?

Does the sheet-feed "self-adjust?"

This is a brand-new unit, so I cannot imagine foreign matter on a roller would be involved.

Typically it would be damaged/bent/torn paper, or Humidity that causes it.

Just got a WorkCentre 6605 so I can have printing and scanning in the same networked unit, and it's great!

And I finally figured out how to configure scanning to a folder on my iMac running macOS Sierra (10.12).

However, often when feeding multiple sheets the auto-feed will grab more than one sheet of paper and then jam.

Any tips on minimizing this problem?
