Please change SMTP Server settings in Xerox WorkCentre 7120 after finish SMTP relay server installation:
1. SMTP Server IP Address/ Host Name & Port: IP of SMTP relay server and Port: 25
2. Login Credentials for the WorkCentre to access the SMTP Server to send automated e-mails: None

The reason the device displays fault code 027-779 and is unable to authenticate is due to the use of CRAM-MD5 authentication enabled at the SMTP server.
The WC 5225/5230 design does not support CRAM-MD5 authentication. The following are supported authentication.
-LOGIN
-PLAIN
-NTLM

i would start first with an firmware upgrade and test again

Hi, I tried to configure a WC 7120 with these parameters:
I got this error: 027-779 it attestation-fails by smtp-a, when I send and email.
Does anyone knows about that error? I already upgraded the firmware version. Should I initialize the System NVM?
