Since it finds no email address or anything else, I would say the alias is not located within the same scope of the root directory.
And since it finds no email address, the email would likely be getting sent to the machines email address, not into nothingness (I assume they use Send to self.)
I would look server side at the alias settings, use something like Softerrra LDAP browser so you can view the lookups and see all the details for both.
Hi Joe,
When I search for her current username or with her directory information I do get what looks like a correct profile.
When I search for her previous alias, I get a confusing profile:
If you do a search for her, do you get the new address (alias) or the old address?
Try it on CWIS > Properties > Connectivity > Protocols > LDAP > User Mappings
At least that will tell you were to start looking for the issue since you have to guess everything now.
Good afternoon all,
We have a user who has changed her name, and accordingly we updated her email account on our server, with her previous name listed as an alias. When she tried to scan-to-email now, the emails disappear into nothingness. We would have thought having her login with her correct information would associated the new email with the scan, or at least direct it to the previous alias which should route to her current address, but no luck.
Is there somewhere I need to update her information? We aren't using the Address Book functionality, we authenticate through our mail server on login to the machine.
Thanks for any advice!
