Jump to solution
Product Name: WC7845
Operating System: Other – specify OS in post

I have a Xerox WorkCentre 7845.

Have had paper jam using tray two, set up to run 11x17.  Pulled all jammed paper, cannot find any other jams or pieces any where.

Cannot reset machine.  Paper jam message on a loop.

Have turned on and off several times.  Even unplugged one time.

Please advise help to reset.

Thank you.

Hi,

Can you provide the fault code from "Fault History"?

Check the fuser exit sensor actuator if is not broken. It is located inside the fuser under the yellow guide.

Not sure if you got my msg.

Clear Jam in Printer Left Side Bottom Door. No numerical number code.

I had been running out of tray 2, 11x17, glossy 80# text, color. It jammed with two or three sheets. I made the mistake and pulled by ripping sheets in half.

Put all sheets together, so, I think I removed all pieces. But, like you have mentioned, sensor is probably bent or broken.

Can you please direct me to the sensor inside door C"?

Thank you so much for all your help. I don't have a contract with Xerox for this machine.

Yes, I see that in the picture you have submitted.

It looks recessed or broke.  Mine does not protrude out.  Looks like I will need to replace that.  Would have never figured that out.

I do have another machine like this one that am using for parts.  How hard is this to swap sensors?

I thank you so much for your input.  Just a one man show and still trying to make some money with customers needs to output on paper.

Please advise repair.

Thank you so much for your help! Will definetly give you the highest marks I can in here.

Hi,

Let's hope the sensor is just dislodged and not broken.

First, to have better access you must remove the little cover behind the cover A, After that remove the bypass tray from it's 2 screws and unplug the 2 cables78xx TM.jpg

Remove the metal guide (2 screws) that cover the sensor and the shaft:78xx metal guide3.jpg

release the shaft or remove it ( it have a E clip on the left)

Finally remove the sensor (one screw)

Replace the sensor and put all back in reverse order.

Good luck!

That is the detail I need to complete this repair. Would have never figured it out from what you had mentioned, sensor.  I was looking for an electrical sensor with some kind of light beam.

The fix was time consuming to get in there, but well worth the time that you afforded me to explain.  The sensor was just popped out of its two seats that hold it in.

Thank you SO MUCH!  This got me back on track and copier works fine.  I know what I did to cause this.  More than just ripping the 2 or three fed sheets that were jammed.

I need to use the bypass tray on questionable papers.

Gabiene! This solved my immideiate problem but I fear the small plastic lever is damaged in my unit. It won't "fall" back into place so the printer thinks there is a constant jam. I have to open the door, flick the little lever then it falls down. I think it was bent or damaged at some point. Any idea where I can buy a replacement?
