My Xerox failed due to a faulty hard drive (don't understand how that would break a fax machine) and Xerox promptly came out and fixed it. But, after they left the scanning didn't work.
I get confused with the different names and repositories and such but right now I have been doing the following:
Clicking on: Properties -- Services -- Network Scanning -- File Repository Setup
I then use:
Friendly name: SCAN
Protocol: SMB (not sure if that is the correct setting)
IP Address using IPv4: IP of the server with port 139
Share: Faxes (name of folder where all faxes and scans go on server)
Document Path: I have been using \\Server\Faxes (Server is the name of the server)
Login name: Login name of the server
Password: Password of the server
It doesn't work. I have tried at least 10 variations of the Share, Document Path, etc. When I see the settings under Network Scanning, it always seems to add the share name after the IP address and before the path. I don't understand why it just doesn't ask for the path.

Let me try to explain.
You have a server name of "Server" with the share named "Share" (Make sure the user that you are typing on the Web UI has full control of that folder" and the users have sub -folders under "Share" for Doug, John and Sally.
Your Xerox repository setup would be:
Friendly Name: Public_Scans
IP Address/Hostname: server
Document Path: << BLANK >>
Login: <customer set>
Password: <customer set>
Then under the Scan tab you will setup a "Template". Once you create the name of the template you will go under the File Repository settings under the templete and add the sub-folder in the document path (Make sure there are no spaces).
