Re: Workcentre 3550 Scan to email issue?

The problem (which I'm experiencing as well) is when I have a 40 page document to scan. I didn't get my 3300mfp expecting to get 14 PDFs and have to merge them into a single PDF before I can send it to anyone else. When I scan to USB, it scans 40 pages to a nice and single 19mb PDF file. When I scan to SMB, it stops after ~2.25mb, asks "cancel?" on the display, and no matter what I choose (yes or no), it stops and uploads the 3-5 pages (depending on color / quality settings ) it has scanned so far.

I can understand having a file size limit for many circumstances, but my email service will accept up to 15mb. A file server certainly shouldn't be bogged down by files of that size. Even gmail supports attachments up to 25mb. I don't understand why the file size limit isn't overridable, much less why the maximum setting is 4mb (the max in my 3300mfp smtp properties). Is this setting determining behavior beyond scan to email? I don't have scan to email set up, but I reach a similar limit when I tried scan to SMB.

I don't intend to come off as aggressive and I apologize if I did. I'm trying to understand the use cases that led to this decision and to present alternate ones that highlight a clear and contrasting goal and requirements.

thanks,

Frank

Workcentre 3550 Scan to email issue?

Product Name: WorkCentre 3550

We've recently purchased a few of the workcentre 3550 MFPs. One of the users is complaining that when they scan to email, it scans three pages then sends it as an email, scans three more and so on till it finishes.

Is there a way to change this?

Thanks,

Jonathan
