I ended up contacting XEROX on Friday and that is the conclusion they came to also. So we downloaded the new update and viola! no problems scanning large documents! I am very happy to find a solution to our problem. I guess I wonder why they don't contact their customers, especially since we just got the copier in July, with these updates when they know that there are problems.
Thanks for your help.
what firmware is your device running? The latest one is : 15_003_44_000
seems there is lots fixed about scanning...
You have to contact support to get this firmware
Still having the problem and now we just tried scanning directly to a USB drive and we encountered the same problem. The file will not open in Adobe PDF. I get error code 109. I can't load the freeware you suggested because we have very tight restrictions on what can be loaded on our computers. Is this a software problem on the Xerox 4250?
thats strange, normally if there is a limitation , the machine will break it for example in more mails... or even refuses to drop in the folder
have you tried opening that pdf of another PC? or try to open it with FOXIT reader ... thats a freeware pdf reader, and a verry good one
I am trying to network scan very large paper documents with the Workcentre 4250. They seem to transfer fine to my desktop (via the SMB protocol) but when I try to open the PDF I am getting an error. Whe I have them brought into PaperPort the PDF image shortcut representing the document is not correct, a box with slanted lines. When I try to drag into the PDF box to open up the file I get an error code of 109 in Adobe Acrobat. I seem to have this problem with scans that are larger than 5-6 MB. So is there a size limitation on transferring scans via a network? Is there some option that I can change to allow bigger scans.
Right now I am having to break them in two and either stack them in Paperport or put them together in Adobe Professional. This is slowing down the process and is not ideal.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks Kammie
