This did not work for me, no difference... Something just dies on the windows computer the printer needs to connect with.
The following does not work:
- Unplugging and re-plugging the USB
- Opening the printer properties like you said
- Restarting the printer
- Putting the windows computer to sleep and back
- Opening paper port
- Opening Omni Page scanner settings
- etc...
In case it helps anyone, the fix I found for this when the scan to PC isn't working, is I go to the start menu, devices and printers, and double click the Xerox 6027 printer to get the properties window to come up. This usually kicks it into gear for me and it starts scanning to PC. It saves me from having to restart the computer.

I searched Xerox Support and Download for the Xerox Express Scan Manager (which I have on another PC). I then download to the new PC (Windows 10) I am using but when I download the files as instructed there are no "Install" or "Exe" files so I don't know what to do.
Xerox, please provide a link to the files for the Express Scan Manager and tell how to really get it installed and working. I can print, but not scan to the computer via the USB connection.

I also have a 6027 connected to a Mac via USB and I try to "Scan to PC" it displays it is "Processing" it and afetr few seconds I get a "time out error".
This feature used to work without a problem until few months ago.
I am running on macOS Sierra 10.12.4
and got the latest driver + firmware installed on my mac and printer / scanner

Yeah the last software package for WIndows is from Feburary 2016, nearly a year now.
Anyone from Xerox? It's pretty annoying. I pay a premium price for a Xerox, but my Samsung C460FW that sells for about $100 used never had any issues - including this. Oh and BTW the Samsung WILL LET YOU PRINT even when it thinks its out of toner just by pressing OK to the warning. I probably get 100-200 more pages out of it.

Me three. I just got this printer two months ago and have been using it from time to time. Scan to computer worked fine at first and suddenly last week it stopped working, giving me a "scanner timeout error, job cancelled" message. I'd really like a fix for this because scanning to usb is not going to work.
I have the same problem. PaperPort can scan fine, everything in windows sees the scanner. Some service or something is not running correctly on the windows computer, but I don't know what. Restarting always fixes the problem, but listen - Xerox - I can't restart my computer everytime I need to scan something because your crappy service keeps dying!
What's going on?
Windows 7 PC here... Anyone know what service it's supposed to be?
