Hi, Poutnik!
I was talking about the utility provided from Xerox, sorry about the mixup.
As Sorcermon did solve this it is possible, though he had a antivirus / firewall blocking the communication.

Hello,
is this really only for USB usage?
Because during the installation i'm asked for IP and in windows "Scanners" list there is "Xerox WC 6605(WIA - LAN)".
Also when I try to start scanning using the windows utility mentioned before, it says that it begins scanning and the printer is waken from "sleep" mode. "Scanning" will start to show on the printer and then the Windows utility shows error message that "Scanning error, there is probably another scanning in progress" (which surely is not, I'm the only user which have access to this printer - locally and on the network).
If the windows utility is not able to scan over LAN, is there any other utility which have those capabilities?
It would be kinda weird if I had to configure SMB or FTP when I have scanner locally installed on the PC ...
I finally solved it. It was the antivirus NOD32 who blocked the comunication.
Hi, Poutnik!
The scanning utility is for USB use only.
If you want to setup scanning over IP you will have to setup SMB or FTP.

Hello,
I'm expiriencing same issues with band new WorkCentre 6605.
I'm using Win 7 x64 with newest (downloaded) TWAIN drivers. Printer is connected to local network (same switch).
I'm trying to use "Fax and scanner" and "Scanners and cameras" utilities from Windows (not sure about exact names of utilities, i don't have english Windows).
In "Scanners and cameras" utility, in WC 6605 Scanner properties I also see "State: Not connected".
Do you have any suggestion?
PS: I will try scanning over USB soon and ley you know if it's working.
Hi, Sorcemon!
What OS are you using?
Also, does it work connecting through USB instead?
Best Regards

I have a big problem scanning from the computer with twain driver.
If I install the scanner controller, it detects the IP of the 6505 and it looks ok.
But when i go to control panel>scanners, the xerox 6505 state is "disconnected" so I can't scan from the PC.
I tryed with 2 pc and same problem.
Any clue?
