Workflow Scanning - Workflow Tags and File Name

I didn't use this kind of scanner yet. But according to my experience HP Scanner isn't bad.

I have set up a workflow scanning template to scan to a SMB share.  We added a workflow tag so that when the start the process they are prompted for a value - student ID.  We want to use this value in the "document name" field so when it is saved the file is named the student's ID.  I would think you should be able to use the tags somewhere in the workflow process.
