Workflow scanning issues on 7855

We are having an issue in a customer that is prerry intermittant when using the workflow scanning option on the machine. When the custmer is scanning a document to a shared location the below error is apearing and the job is being deleted. They reboot the machine and the scan goes through, as you can imagine though this is not conveiniant for the customer to keep doing this. The firmware on the device is 072.010.134.32804.

Just a guess but do they have 2 devices scanning to the same location? If so, change the name of the scan doc default on one of them.

 

Xerox checks the folder for the file name and if it sees the last one is DOC045.pdf the one it is about to do will be DOC046.pdf

 

But if 2 machines do so in a similar time frame they will both try and put their file there with the same name.

 

So if one is to use DOC, try the other one with D0C and see if it resolves the issue.

 

Failing that load the latest firmware here.

 

Take note I used your firmware listed as 072.010 to infer you are dealing with a 7830/7835 and not a 7845/7855 that would begin 072.040

Thats a gltchy version. I would get the latest spar.

Also, in the Scan Templates make sure that Job Log is disabled.  If the .xst file already exists for the file name its trying to create, you would see this.

We have upgraded the machine to the latest SPAR release 072.200.165.14201. The other resolution above that involves changing the document name is not an option as they do not scan from many devices at the same time. Also, the XST log is definitey turned off. Anyone any ideas?

If you are able to install 072.200.165.14201 then the printer is not a 7855, it is a 7970.

If it was previously running 072.010.134.32804 it still wasn't a 7855 it was a 7830/7835.

 

If a file name change is not an option even to verify if that is the cause of the issue there is not much troubleshooting left, call 2nd level and request an Analyst escalation if you want somebody onsite (Billable call if the issue is in settings and not an inherant firmware issue) or get them the Config sheets and network logs from the device soon after a failure to have the Engineers look into it.
