Rui: I sincerely appreciate your help, however, I'm having a hard time understanding your suggestions...I'm sorry. . You said "The Simpson indicates....." Did you mean to say "The Symptom indicates......." You said "I sow that you....." Did you mean to say "I show that you...." You said "Is this printer using one lamp or two lamps? One for the ADF and the other for the platen?" Since this is a copier I assume you meant to say "Is this copier using one lamp or two lamps?" If so, how would I find out on my XC1255 model if it uses 1 lamp or two? When you say to "check the paper path on the ADF..." Is that the same as SDF, which is what my manual calls the top loading document feeder? If so, what is the procedure for checking the ADF, since it seems to be self contained? I'm having a difficult time understanding your last suggestion to "check on the glass if the paper has the same distance from the glass on all lengths of the glass/lamp." Do you mean that I should check to see if the document feeder (ADF) is feeding the paper across the glass properly? How would I do that while it is feeding the paper? If that is not what you are suggesting, please explain further. Rui I want you to know that I really do appreciate your taking the time to help me. I'm sorry that I'm having a hard time understanding your written suggestions.
Hi,
The symptom indicates that the problem only can be on the scanner. I red that you already cleaned both classes. Is this copier using one lamp or two lamps? One for ADF and other for the platen? If uses two then the lamp is the problem.
I'm remember other thing, check the paper path on the ADF and check on the glass if the paper has the same distance from the glass on all length of the glass/lamp. Not sure if I could explain this right, sorry.
Regards
Rui
Thanks for the reply however, as noted in my message, I have pretty much done all those suggestions. What I would like to know is what specific part is causing the problem. I'm very technically savvy and can probably fix the issue if I am pointed in the right direction. I contacted the Support center and was of no assistance. Since it is long out of warranty, I would like to give it a try first before hauling it in to a repair shop. Can you provide me with information on how to repair this, including any part numbers diagrams, etc.? Thanks for your help.
