Yes, most of the glass cleaners will do. The important is using one that doesn't leave any stain or be corrosive.

I assume I can use a glass cleaner for the mirrors. Would that be acceptable.

Hi,

I'm glad that is much better now.

Yes, there is a cleaning solution used by the field engineers. I'm not sure if you can buy it from Xerox, but is free for customers with contract to clean the top glass.

Once again sorry the confution about my posts.

Rui: Thanks for the help. I didn't realize that there was a second mirror. I had cleaned the mirror over the toner cartridge, but when you said second mirror I was able to locate a second smaller mirror at the other end of the copier. It was quite difficult to get a small soft cotton rag up there to gently clean it. Once done, the copies came out much better...only a hint of a streak. I doubt that anyone would ever notice. If I set the copier to darker, then the streak is very visible, but since I hardly if ever do that, I can live with this. I just hate wasting toner no matter how slight. Is there a cleaning solution that I can use to clean these mirrors? Also is there an easier way to get to that second mirror to properly clean it? If so, I'm all ears. Thanks for the help.

Hi,

Sorry the delay. My colleagues have the same opinion. This copier should have a second mirror only for the SDF.

Yes, I'm feeding the pages in the document feeder the normal way. As mentioned...there is no streak if I use the glass, only when I use the document feeder. I've run 20 blank pages through the document feeder and as you can see the last page that I sent still shows that weak streak on the right side.

It is very light in did. Let me get a second opinion from my colleagues. I'm assuming that you are feeding from the short edge. Regards Rui

Rui:

Attached is a scanned image. The streak is very light so I increased the scan resolution in hopes that it will show up for you to see.  Note the light streak on the right side of the page running from top to bottom.  Thanks for the help.

I'm really sorry about that. Next time I will read what I wrote. Really sorry. ADF is automatic doc feeder and yes is the top feeder. To see if it uses one or two lamps, when you open the top you should see the car (where is the lamp) moving to the side a little bit. But almost for sure you have only one lamp.

From what you described it only can be a dirty mirror or glass, but you stated was clean. Can you scan a doc with the symptom and post here?

Rui
