Re: XC1255 shadow image

Hi,

Grabbing on what Kimzi said, do a simple test to find where is the origin:

- do a copy and listen the paper

- Open the front door before the paper passes the fuser. You may need to try a few times until accomplish.

- Check the paper and see if the ghost is happening before the fuser. If yes is a drum problem, if no is a fuser problem.

Re: XC1255 shadow image

Hey!

According to what I understand it could be either the fuser, drum or the decharge lamp.

Print out a page, take out the fuser and see if you can find a defect on it, do the same on the drum.

Thanks!

Re: XC1255 shadow image

I replaced the fuser about 3 or 4 years ago. The copier only gets infrequent use so I wouldn't expect the fuser to be bad already. Someone else said it was the drum unit and needed replacing...any ideas what I should do? Thanks

Re: XC1255 shadow image

Hi,

I'm not familiarized with this model, but sounds like you have a problem in the fuser. Do you know if Is too old?

XC1255 shadow image

Product Name: Other - specify product in post
When I make a copy I can see several shadows of the original on the copied paper. If I run a blank copy through...the copy comes out clean, but if I put something on the document glass and make a copy, I can see the original on the copied page as well as faint shadows below the original on the same copy. I did an experiment and took a 3X5 card with typing on it and laid it at the top part of the document glass to copy, then made a copy. The copied page shows a perfect copy of the 3X5 card at the top of the page and then several light shadows of the wording of the 3X5 card below the copy repeated all the way down the page. Any ideas what is happening? Why is my copier making a good copy with several shadow copies below it too?
