Great thanks for your help and assistance and getting me know I was wrong.

The firmware update worked. No more delays.

The spar I linked is absolutely official and supported, it also resolves the issue you are speaking of (slow email) unless yours is different than other peoples setup in some odd way, and has no issue at all scanning by FTP or SMB to Server 2012 under known circumstances, of course there are no 100% guarantees, I don't have any knowledge of your setup.

It doen't matter version 061.121.226.12400 has a SPAR? Is it officially approved to update?

Could it possibly be the solution for my problem of long delays in scanning via Exchange 2010?

 

My first post was an appeal for a quite older version than 061.121.224.18803 that my MFU has now (061.121.222.06508, to be more precise, as I found out later yesterday it worked fine for some people who downgraded to this very version, but this solution was back 2015). I haven't tried nor SPAR, nor 06508 yet.

For now I'd just like to clarify what version of firmware can help to get rid of long delays.

My problem is the same as written above

Since it is your post I would not have expected the issue to be different.

 

The latest is 8 versions newer than yours and is numbered 061.121.226.12400 and dated 06/16. Yours is dated 11/14.

The version you have will certainly have a plethora of issues due to the recently implemented SHA-2 encryption by the big dogs in SMTP (Gmail, Yahoo, Office365, AT&T, GoDaddy)

 

You already stated you know you are on older firmware and stated that email is working fine so my question still stands. You need to clarify what you are looking for with this statement because it makes no sense in the context of your post.

Are you looking for a patch to enable some advanced at the time version of SMB? Because, again, your subject line implies you are looking for an email fix, and the The Solution portion of your post firmly states that is actually working fine.

 

The only SMB patch for version 3 SMB on 2012 dealt with remote directory lock errors, but the patch was designed specifically for versions of spars that are 5-12 versions older than the General release you are running, so no guarantees there.

My problem is the same as written above. So I believe the solution (I found somewhere in the net, I'm sorry I haven't posted it all at once) will be of help to me too. 

The version of firmware for my MFU is 061.121.224.18803. For the moment it's the latest as far as it's stated here http://www.support.xerox.com/support/workcentre-7545-7556/file-download/enus.html?operatingSystem=ma...

The older firmware doesn't have the problem of slow scanning as it's stated above. Maybe any alternative firmware exists, I don't know.

Are you looking for the patch for smb3? The older firmware for the slow scanning? Your Subject implies the email issue, and thus you would want the firmware, but since it appears from your wording that the issue with the subject (slow email) was resolved, that the subject line is totally irrelevant to the actual issue scanning to SMB.

 

If its the SMB thing, you need to state what version of firmware you are running at the very least, but the actual patch name would be incredibly helpful too.

XEROX WorkCentre Very Long Delay Scanning to Exchange

We have a XEROX WorkCentre 7545 series device in our environment. For several months we have been experiencing long delays between the time a document is scanned at a machine and when it arrives, via our local Exchange 2010 server, in the user mailbox.

This most often happens on the machine users do the most scanning on in the office.

The scan job shows a "processing" status for about 1, 2 up to 6-7 hours!

We have also experimented by connecting the device to different switches, using different cable paths to the switch.

This behaviour appears to get progressively worse until we are forced to reboot the Xerox device. After a reboot, the device will send scans in a normal (less than a minute) time to the Exchange mailbox. But, after a few days it slows down again. This happens with documents of all sizes and at all scan resolution and colour settings.

 

The solution

Xerox rolled us back to an older firmware level and that (after a couple of weeks of testing) appears to have fixed the slow scanning problem. They had to come back in after the rollback to apply a patch that fixed an issue with scanning to network shares hosted on Server 2012 using the newer version of the SMB protocol so if you get them to do the fix for you remind them about that if you've got any 2012 or newer file servers in place.

 

So I would like to know how I can obtain one because the problem bothers a lot.
