Xerox 6015NI Scan to Network doesn't do anything!

When I choose option Scan to ... "Computer(Network)", and press OK or the Green button, NOTHING happens. What gives?

Also the "Server(FTP)" option doesn't work, at all. Nothing happens!

 

I got all drivers installed and the device is succesfully connected to my open WLAN network.

This device is unbeliveably hard to use. It couldn't even search the network, I had to manually TYPE the name in. I will definitely choose another brand next time, thanks. This has cost us many working days, where as our old cheapo Brother printer was setup in matter of minutes.

 

Also there's no Finnish language at all, which makes this unusable device for the 1/3 of our staff.

I cant make up from your question if you configured the machine to use network scanning.

Thanks for the link, for some reason I never came across that information, although I looked at the manual.

Maybe the printer could've said "No Network Scan Address assigned"? Nope, it just did nothing, like it was a glitch.

 

I was able to get around that error, but after tackling 3 hours with 031-555, 031-529 and 031-521 errors hundreds of times and dealing with very unresponsive buttons(!), I returned the printer and came to conclusion that it is impossible to setup if you're not the actual software engineer that designed this device. I'm advanced computer user, I tried port forwarding, set all of the corresponding folders to 100% shared to Everyone, but without avail.

 

This and Xerox 7232 have been the only electronic devices in my entire life that I just haven't gotten to work. I now personally believe it's in the fault of poor user-design of this brand. This is only meant to be installed by fully trained professionals, not users.

This might very well be a Windows error too, but the solution should be clearly available in the support forums, manual or user interface of the device.

 

There's no indication of the default scanning folder, anywhere. I had to search for it. Address book editor doesn't recognize the device, although printer itself says that network status is "Good". This is not an working product, and shouldn't be sold as such.

 

Thanks for the help anyways, I got the another brand printer working with WLAN scanning for some reason, without any quirks, just with the install wizard. I wonder why... Maybe they aren't as secure, but I'm not afraid of that, atleast they work.
