I have the Xerox Workcentre 7120 and have just obtained and installed the Fax unit for one phone line.
I installed the hardware according to instructions and followed the installation guide on the unit, but I do not see an option on the main screen to send a fax.
When I send a fax to the unit, it picks up the call and starts the handshake, but always drops the call after a few seconds with error 033-503.
The home screen displays: Copy, Email, Store to Folder and Send from Folder, but no Fax option.
Obviously something is setup wrong, what can I do?
Thank you for using the forum, I've searched our online knowledge base and found an article that should help with your issue with enabling the fax feature.
If you are still having issues after trying these steps I suggest that you call into our support department for assistance @ 1-800-821-2797.
I tried the instructions "To enable Embedded Fax:" and there was no [Fax Settings] or [Scan to Fax] option available.
I looked through all the other options in Properties and found nothing useful.
Under Security, I did find
Do I need an updated code to obtain the fax button, etc?
I printed out the Configuration Report and here are the Fax relevant items:
Fax ROM: Ver. 1.1.11
Fax Kit 2
Fax Main Board: Line 1
Fax Service: Disable Accounting
Access Control - Service Access
Copy: Locked (Show Icon)
Internet Fax: Unlocked
What else can I do?
The Fax on 7120 is plug and play option. Be sure you have correctly connected the Fax module like in the pictures below:
I have double-checked all the cabling and all the settings and I am still not seeing any option on the home screen to send a fax, nothing at all. I tried disconnecting and reconnecting the fax unit, installing everything again, but nothing works.
