Xerox 7525 Touch UI Top Position "Bug"

I'm unsure if this is a bug or if I'm doing something wrong. 


Whatever template I have at the top position tends to not work. If I scan to the "top position" template, it just goes into the "Progress screen" for a second then returns. My workaround is to set the DEFAULT template (which I leave at defaults) to the "top position" so all other templates work. But I wish to hide the default template, so it's a catch 22.
