Thanks, after your prompts you can perform the altboot and therefore problem solved, and now everything works fine.

You have way too many files in there for one.

There should only be 2 files, the DLM is one, DISABLE_DATA_BACKUP is the other.

You also don't want to use the dlm with 34540 in it, use the one with 20500. Grab that here is needed.

If that doesn't work then test that the USB port is working (Plug a phone into it and see if the phone will charge for instance) and then try another USB key (They like 4-8GB, they don't work with above 16GB in my experience)

Re: Xerox 7545: update in progress does not end

Hello,

As I was reading how to perform the altboot, I performed the following steps:

In the root of a USB memory (FAT32) I created a folder with the name: altboot, and inside it I have added the following files:

DISABLE_CLONE
DISABLE_DATA_BACKUP
FORCED_UPGRADE
NO_CLONE
NO_DATA_BACKUP
WorkCentre_7845-55-system-sw#07304007534540#ENG_MOD.DLM

Then I inserted the memory into the front USB port of the printer, but it does not boot from the USB. The same message continues: ongoing software update. Then the printer is restarted, and then again the message software update on course.

What I can be doing wrong?

To do the 3 reboots with which button should I do it? with the button 1, or with the button 2?

I hope you can help me.
regards

Looks like settings are going to have to be lost, take the firmware dlm from the download and put it on a USB stick inside a folder on the root of the drive named altboot.

Put it in the front USB port on the printer and reboot it (It should boot from the USB and install the firmware, but it will wipe settings.

The other option is to disconnect it from the LAN and try 3 reboots in a row to clear it's memory, this probably won't work, but can't hurt to try. If it does, plug it back into the LAN and try to update it again, and make sure the PC sending the update is wired (not on WiFi) and set to never go to sleep until the machine is back online.

Xerox 7545: update in progress does not end

Jump to solution
Product Name: Other - specify product in post

I was updating the XEROX 7845 firmware with ConnectKey Software Upgrade Utility, everything was fine until the message appeared on the computer:

--------------------
A connection with the device has been lost. Restart the device and select continue.
If the problem persists then contact your local system administrator..............
--------------------

Now the printer panel says: ongoing software update. Then the printer is restarted, and then again the message software update on course. And so again and other the same, and hence does not advance more.

I hope someone can help me.
Greetings.
