Re: Xerox 7855 scan to NAS file size problem

Jump to solution

Always use the tool is best practice, because it will update what is needed and use any patches or firmwares needed in the order they should be done.

The 072 firmware is for when you are going from 071-072-073. Which you are not, if you want to do the CWIS method, just do the 073 release.

Weblets are there so they can be installed if you choose to use them (The tool will ask)

Apologize Joe, you´re right I read the solution faster and understand it in other way, I´ll do the update this evening, thanks!!!

What is the best way to do the update? By web or using the update tool? On the other hand there are 3 weblets and 4 .dlm, I have to update the weblets too? which of two firmwares recommends to update?

Did you read my post? It literally states that the firmware you are running has the problem you are describing, and I listed it before you mentioned you were running it.

Probably need a firmware update, the firmware numbered 073.xxx.xxx.34540 for instance would do that with some NAS and many Server 2012 setups.

The firmware I linked specifically for your device not only fixes the issue, it is  9 levels newer.

If you ever want to know when a firmware was made, you can by the numbers themselves, but it is not higher = newer.

General release: 073.xxx.075.34540 - 5= 2015. 345=day 345 of the year. 40 is respin 4. = December 2015
New SPAR release: 073.xxx.177.14300 - 7=2017. 145=day 145 of the year. 00 is respin 0. = May 23 2017

Joe the machine already had the last firmware (073.010.075.34540) so this firmware doesn´t solve the issue, Could I downgrade the firmware to the 072.XXX? The client tolds me that the problems began when we update de firmware few months ago.

Thanks!!!

Currently most of Xerox.com is broken, but when it is fixed (No ETA), the firmware will reside here that you need

Xerox 7855 scan to NAS file size problem

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

Good morning, I have an issue with two clients trying to scan to smb to a folder in a NAS Server, the are NAS rack servers (model in attached image), the problem is as follows: when I scan any document which size is larger than 60-80kb the document is deleted by xerox due (I supose) the NAS server refuse the document for some reason, in contrast, when I scan any document bellow this size the scan works correctly.

Doing this operation in a folder in other machine (tested in pc with Windows 7) it works pefectly and other machines are scanning without problems to the same NAS folder.

Maybe Xerox machines have problems with NAS servers? Anyone have had a similar issue?

Thanks in advance.
