Answering myself: Need to select non-WIA Twain source... (without WIA) and only via USB
That gives upto 4800.. but just scanned few test images - it is just upscaled 300dpi.. No new details since 300dpi... just the same image resized.. so it is fake! no any 1200dpi optical - it is simple 300dpi with upscale.. like in the user guide
Even a cheap phone gives more resolution for documents
I am going to give up and return the device it is not as specified in
Guess a claim to the supervisory authority is required... for fake advertisement
What TWAIN driver you were using? I installed Xerox B215 Windows PrintDrivers Utilities v3.70.43.08
(it has TWAIN WIA) and tried it - it gives only 300dpi maximum option only
So what did you use as TWAIN and what connection it was?
...in combination IrfanView and embedded Xerox twain driver we can select 1200 and 4200 fields
Looks more "interesting" Link: B215 User Guide
Feature Specifications
• Optical: Up to 600 x 600 dpi mono, up to
300 x 300 dpi color and grayscale.
• Enhanced: Up to 4800 x 4800 dpi mono, up to
2400 x 2400 dpi color and grayscale.
So it says that we can get 2400dpi interpolated in color... that we don't have, but optical is 300dpi in color!!!!
And looks like my draft tests is valid in fact Xerox B215 has (let's call it effective) 300dpi that is interpolated to 600dpi in native scan tools :(
That is far below the advertised optical 1200dpi in sale pages :( Shocked
Same topic. Confused even old 2001 HP connected via LPT port :) had option 2400dpi!!!!
I just got my order with Xerox B215 and see the only 600dpi, options however
says
Scan resolution (optical)
1200 x 1200 dpi |
That is a deception of buyers
Disappointed!
Official support, please explain how to get declared 1200 dpi in spec
Has any solution been found for the 600dpi scanning restriction?
Scan from Doc glass > Wireless > Windows 10 > Easy Document Creator.
Same limitation...
Hello Louis,
I searched the knowledgebase, and you can only get 1200 DPI when scanning from the Document Platen glass and not the ADF. Have you tried that?
I just bought a Xerox B215, and after a lot of trying I haven't been able to scan at 1200*1200 dpi from MacOS Sierra. The max resolution I get is 600*600, and even at this resolution the resulting image quality is less than average. I believe this might be a driver issue.
I contacted Xerox Portugal phone support but it was completely unsactisfactory and unable to help. I0m considering to return the printer if I can't fix this...
Has anyone having the same issue? How is it solved?
Thanks!
