Xerox Phaser 8560MFP, Scanning problems with scan utility

Hello,


I have a Xerox Phaser 8560MFP which I am having problems with scanning using the Xerox Scan Utility, the problem is that intslling the software was straight forward but when I go up to the 8560MFP press scan to destination it cannot find any of the laptops.

I have 6 PC Laptops none of them show up the os of each are:

1. PC Windows 7 Pro x64

2. PC Windows XP 32bit/ Ubuntu 12.04

3. Laptop Windows 7 Pro 32bit

4. Laptop Windows 8.1 x64

5. Laptop Windows Ultimate x64

6. Laptop Windows 7 Home Pro x64

7. Laptop Macbook Pro (2009) Maverick 10.9/ Windows 8 Pro x64/ Ubuntu 12.04

 

All the laptops and PC I can print to the 8560MFP fine, but scanning is a huge problem, the software will not recognise and PC's or laptops on the network.

 

The router I am using is a Asus RT-N66U.

 

Is there a port which is required to be forwarded or any specfic setting required to be activated.

I have done a NVRAM reset to reset all the setting to default values.

 

P.S. I understand for the ubuntu the is no scan utitlity and that scanning to the pubulic folder is required and download the scaned files though printer web page is required.

As for windows 8 and 8.1 windows 7 drivers were able to be used.

Have a look at THIS for the ports that are being used and also the applications that should not be blocked.

Hiya,

 

I have done that too, I have even gone far as disabling the firewall to see if the firewall was causing the problem, but it seams that its not.

Have you checked both the Router firewall and windows firewall?

It could also be the homegroup settings on the PCs.
