I'm using the M20i in Windows 7 and Adobe freezes when initiating the device, PaperPort 12 gives the "unable to communicate wit the scanning device, and Windows doesn't even recognize a scanner is installed.  Not a well written scanner driver.

I don't have the original CD that came with the machine - is there anywhere to download the solution that worked for you?  "But with the application on the cd with paperport on it" - what's the name of this application and what's the link where it can be downloaded?  I'd love to be able to download this from you personally (what's the size?).  Otherwise, I'm going to buy a $50 inkjet AIO just for scanning functions.  Xerox support has been useless.

If anyone else comes across this problem, Xerox support advised me that the scan utility is not currently compatible with Windows 7.

Xerox Scan Utility not compatible with Windows 7?

Jump to solution
Product Name: Other - specify product in post

I own a Phaser 8560 scanner and had been using the Xerox Scan Utility with my Windows XP machines with no problems. I recently switched to Windows 7 and after installing the driver, the Scan Utility does not work. After scanning, the utility just hangs and locks up. I googled the issue and found some hits where others have had the same problem. But no one seemed to have a solution. Is the Scan Utility not compatible with Windows 7? Or has someone gotten it to work? If so, how? Thanks.
