I got it working. Had to add windows components and after that, it works a-ok on a W8.1 64 bit pc.

Xerox Scan Utility not compatible with Windows 8?

Hello

This weekend I purchased a Phaser 8560 MFP second hand. It didn't come with any cd's containing drivers/software. My main system is a W8.1 pc 64 bit.

The other pc's in my network are XP's (yes I know :) ) and W7 32 bit pc's.

On those pc's (XP and W7) the Scan utility runs fine and I can scan from the MFP to these pc's without a problem.

On the W8.1 pc however, the utility got installed but I don't see it on the display of the MFP, so I can't scan directly to the W8.1 pc.

 

I tried putting the program into compatibility mode W7 (and yes, even XP), but I have had no luck sofar to get it working although I have already spent many hours in installing/de-installing the software.

 

Does anyone have a solution for this problem?

Surely I am not running an exotic system for this setup not to work?
