Xerox® WorkCentre® 6515DN Scan to SMB suddenly not working. Unexpected communications error.

Operating System: Windows 10 x64

Hello together,

since 2 weeks the SMB Connection does not work anymore.

 

When I choose Network -> SMB it told me that it cannot find the folder. After closing that message, the following appears:

 

"Unexpected communications eror. Cannot browse at this time. Check the network connection."

 

I tried switching off and on the SMB Protocol, the whole device and even set it back to factory default. Nothing is working. 

It just did that from one day to another.


Do you guys have any solution?

Software version is: 65.50.61

Hello there,

I cannot find that exact error message in our online knowledge base, but I did find this article that may help you. You can also try checking the folder password. Are you getting any fault codes on the device control panel that can help us understand the problem better?

I have excatly the same problem and the answere dosent help. 

So where is the problem to search a network ???? cant believe that this in not working.

No there is no error code on the display, it looks like the SMB protocol dosent find a network adapter to connect to the network, cause the machine is connected via cable.

Hi CathyO,

the only error messages on the display are the ones I sent you. The link that you sent me does not help.

From one day to another it didn't work anymore. I didn't change any setting on the direction folder and system nor on the xerox device. It just stopped working.

Hi CathyO-Xerox,

the problem sitll occurs and hasn't solved itself.

The papers waiting to be scanned are increasing.

Any new insights?

Same issues here !!!  wokcentre 6515 the scan smb option disapeear et not working. 

Also could not assign on the device that we have the error. On the web page, it adds well but does not appear in the address book or favorites.

This is a issue with the 2 last firmware !! 

Please fix this !
