Xerox Workcentre 5645 - Can't Scan to Windows Server 2012 R2

I have a xerox workcentre 5645, and I'm not able to scan to a shared folder on the network..

 

software Version: 25.054.65.260..

SMB on the server is enable, because i have another machine xerox 5745 and it's scan works.. 

I have tried with port 445

Windows server 2012

 

- Remote directory lock failed,  LOGIN FAILED. CHECK USER PASSWORD AND/OR SETUPS......

If there are no lock files in the directory I would have to assume that the printer was updated to its current firmware (Which is the latest) but the installation notes were not read so the pre-upgrade patch was not done.

 

If that is the case you would need to have the machine Altbooted to get SMB2 scans to work.

What do you mean altbooted the machine? if I install the pre upgrade patch and install the software?

Altboot is loading the software from a USB key, but there is formatting involved, it wipes the device when it is done.

 

But, I have been told I cannot give the information out here, while I can freely give that information out over the phone, it is against the rules to do the same thing here on the forum.

 

Try applying the patch and see if it resolves the issue, I think it won't though, it is a patch that needed to be installed previous to the update. I don't have a 56xx machine to replicate with here by doing an altboot to an older firmware and then straight upgrade without patching to current and setup scan to server 2012.
