Xerox Workcentre 7845 scanning will not complete

Operating System: Windows 10

So where I work we use a xerox workcentre 7845. To scan i enter my email and it usually works fine. But sometimes it will say scanning but does not complete. This happens about 3 times a day. We have to restart the printer and try again. Usually it goes back to work but only for about 10 scans then we have to do it again. When it works it says "complete". When its not work it will only say "scanning" and eventually the job times out. If someone could help it would be greatly appreciated.
