Re: Xerox workcentre 6505 says Load tray 1 when tray 1 is full

Your Xerox WorkCentre 6505 is an amazing machine that can handle all of your printing needs with ease. However, you may have noticed that it occasionally says "Load Tray 1" when Tray 1 is full. This can be frustrating, but don't worry! There are a few simple tricks that you can use to get your Xerox WorkCentre 6505 working properly again.

First, try restarting your machine. This can often clear up any temporary errors that may be causing your Xerox WorkCentre 6505 to say "Load Tray 1" when Tray 1 is full.

If restarting your machine doesn't work, then the next thing you can try is to manually clear the error. To do this, you'll need to open up the printer's control panel and navigate to the "Clear" button. Once you've found the "Clear" button, simply press it and then select "Yes" when prompted. This will clear the error and hopefully get your Xerox WorkCentre 6505 working properly again.

If you're still having problems, then the next thing you can try is to update the firmware on your Xerox WorkCentre 6505. Firmware updates can often fix bugs and improve performance, so it's always worth checking to see if an update is available. You can check for firmware updates by visiting the Xerox website and navigating to the "Support" section. Once you're there, simply find your Xerox WorkCentre 6505 model and look for the "Downloads" section. If there's a firmware update available, simply download and install it according to the instructions.

Hopefully, one of these tips will help you get your Xerox WorkCentre 6505 working properly again. If you're still having problems, then you may need to contact Xerox customer support for further assistance.

Re: Xerox workcentre 6505 says Load tray 1 when tray 1 is full

Hi there, I have a Xerox WorkCentre 6505. The problem I'm having is that it says Load tray 1 when tray 1 is full. This happens regardless of whether I print or scan. When I try to add Heat Pumps more paper and go back to the screen where it says "Load tray 2", it will say "You have no paper". When I go back to the screen where it says "Load tray 2", it will say "You have no paper". The same thing happens with all trays.

Re: Xerox workcentre 6505 says Load tray 1 when tray 1 is full

The other 2 replies are not going to help you. I finally fixed mine by going into tray settings by hitting the middle settings button to the right of the arrows, hit down a couple of times to "tray settings" , hit "tray 1" making sure the paper it says matches the paper in your tray. Mine said somthing els and I changed it to "letter". Then I turned off the "display pop up" setting. After that my printer went back to perfect working order. Hope this helps someone! !

I had this same issue. Xerox support will ultimately suggest you hire a service technician to fix the issue.

Re: Xerox workcentre 6505 says Load tray 1 when tray 1 is full

Hi greatgrizzly,

Thank you for using the Support Forum. Please take a look at the solution for loading Tray 1 and make sure you have the guides in the tray set correctly.  Also if you have a bright light pointing at or right over the machine move the light source and try again.  If the problem continues please consider contacting your support centre for further assistance.

Thanks,

Xerox workcentre 6505 says Load tray 1 when tray 1 is full

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

Xerox Workcentre 6505; My printer keeps asking me to load tray 1 even though it is full, If I slide the tray out then back in, it will print a few pages then ask to load the tray again. It will then reprint the previous pages. It does this when i print from a computer or if i receive a fax or if I use the copy function.
