Then you should read the posted instructions again because the template is given a name around step 9 of 19.

Re: Xerox workcentre 7530, Scan to home drive

They would need to login with their username as well as password, not just the password.

To configure the Scan to Home feature:

  1. From the computer, open an Internet browser window.
  2. Enter the IP address of the printer in the Address field, and then press [Enter] on the keyboard. The CentreWare Internet Services window will be displayed.
  3. Click on the [Properties] tab.
  4. Enter the user name and password in the fields provided, and then click on the [Login] button.

NOTE: The default username is "admin" (case sensitive), and the default password is "1111".

  5. Click on [Services] to expand the list of options.
  6. Click on the [Scan to Home] link.
  7. Click on [General]. The Scan to Home window will be displayed.
  8. In the Status section, click to insert a check mark in the [Enabled] check box.
  9. In the Friendly Name field, enter a user-recognizable name of up to 127 characters for the template that will be displayed in 'Template Details' on the Touch Screen.
  10. If Scan to Home using LDAP Query is required, click on the [LDAP Query] radio button and continue with the next step; otherwise, skip to step 12.
  11. Click on the [LDAP Mapping for Home Directory] link to define the LDAP home directory if it is different than the value current displayed below the link.
    1. Select the value that the home directory should be mapped to from the Home mapping menu.
    2. Click on the [Apply] button. A "Properties have been successfully modified" message will be displayed.
    3. Click on the [OK] button.
    4. Click on the web browser's [Refresh] button (or press [F5] on the keyboard) to refresh the window back to the Scan to Home window.
  12. To set up scanning to a shared directory on a Microsoft Network server (such as \\\\SERVER\\Scanshare):
    1. Select the [No LDAP Query] radio button.
    2. Enter the Microsoft Network server and Share path in the Network Home Path field.

NOTE: This method does not identify which user scans the job so it is recommended that the [Append "User Name" to Path] option be selected."

  13. To create a scanning subdirectory within the user's home directory, select [Automatically Create Subdirectory] and specify a general name in the field provided.
  14. Select the [Append "User Name" to Path] check box if the users login name should appended to the end of the directory path (if they are required to login at the printer). When this option is selected, user files will be saved to a \\\\server\\share\\username folder.
  15. If necessary, click on the [Automatically Create "User Name" directory if one does not exist] check box.
  16. Click on the [Apply] button. A "Properties have successfully been modified" message will be displayed.
  17. Click on the [OK] button.
  18. Click on the [Logout] link and logout of CWIS.
  19. Close the browser window.
