Hello toggess, 

I can tell you that the Workcentre 6400 launched in 2009, as far as when you purchase your printer and how old it is I don't have that information.  If you've ever called into the support center @ 1-800-821-2797 and placed a service call they may be able to look up your serial number and possibly find an install date.

Thank you for using the Support Forum. If you provide the model number of the machine you have we can find a range of years that the machine was manufactured but we would not be able to provide a exact date.  Please consider contacting your support centre for further assistance.
