Re: copying legal

Hi Bruce,

The ADF on your machine does not have auto size detection capability so it will only scan the paper size that you tell it to.  You can use the Single Sheet Manual Tray to feed the Legal size automatically, of course it will only be one page at a time, or you can load tray 1 or tray 2 with Legal paper but you will have to make sure that you select that paper tray when you setup the job.  The machine will not automatically pull from tray 1 or 2.

Re: copying legal

Hi john;

That did not work. The machine used the legal in the bypass AND a letter from tray 1 causing a jam. I check and the paper source  is set to auto.Is it possible that the ADF is not detecting the legal length correctly?

Re: copying legal

Hi Bruce,

If you were to load the bypass tray with your Legal size paper (or any other paper for that matter) the machine will print from that tray by default when the paper source is set to 'Auto' like you have done.  Otherwise, you will need to specify the paper tray that you would like to feed from for copy jobs.  So, if you load your bypass tray with Legal paper and set the paper source to auto, then scan your Legal size documents, the machine should print on your Legal size paper automatically.

Re: copying legal

Hi john, Yes I have the second tray installed , and I think programmed. Under system settings, paper size I have tray 2 set to legal and loaded with Legal. Is there something I have to actually set on the tray?

Thanks for your help.

Re: copying legal

Hello bdicksion,
Do you have the optional 2nd paper tray installed on your machine?
If you do, is one of the 2 paper trays programmed and filled with Legal size paper?
If a tray is not programmed with Legal paper, then the machine will pull the closest match - which would be Letter in this case.
Please reply and let me know if this resolves the issue or not.

copying legal

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

How can I copy a legal document on a workcentre 3220 and have it autoselect the correct tray? I currently have to change the default tray each time. I copy with the ADF as the platten is not large enough for legal. The paper source in system settings is set to "auto".

Thanks
