The PK card in the back of the machine needs to be removed after initial setup else this fault will occur.
Memory clear will factory reset date, time, and all user settings (and not fix this fault).
Diagnostic mode is not for customer use so no one from Xerox can tell you how to enter, but I can confirm NVRAM reset will clear this fault.
Fabio, If I clear the memory as you suggest will it also clear the scan set-up function set-up?
Help!
My new WC 3550 won't copy and has the "bypass expired" error message. I would like to attempt the fix given in this thread but can't figure out how to enter diagnostics mode. Can someone please tell me how to do this?

Hello,
This is what I did. Note: After inital setup I ran the machine without the product key installed.
Following instructions
1. Select Machine Status
2. Select System Setup
3. Enter Password - Default
4. Select Clear Setting
5. Select All Settings - I assume this is clearing memory
Bypass Expired still present.
Thanks,
Jeff
this should help :
Remove (Product Enablement Key) from card reader at rear of the machine.
Enter service diagnostics mode
In Machine Diagnostics, perform memory clear
Select Memory Clear
Enter passcode '1934' to clear memory.
The machine should now operate normally.
