Re: file name for scanned files ( xerox WC 6515 )

I have the same issue. The 6180MFP was also naming them differently. The funny thing is that when you click on "name" to name the file on the printer panel, it shows Photo[date & time].jpg, but it never does it.

Can someone from Xerox reply as to whether this is a bug?

It doesn't apply to pdf because pdf doesn't create the folders

hello, is the problem with scanning PDF documents too, or are these PDF files correctly named with date and time?

Hi,

I do not know have this options on EWS and if it help you, but if you have it try to disable that option.

Re: file name for scanned files ( xerox WC 6515 )

hello Joe and thank you for your reply.

i've already try this solution but it's only renaming the folder with a second date in the folder's name (that's why i said there were 2 dates in the folder's name in my first message)

with checking or unchecking this option, it works only on the folder's name, not the scanned file. too bad !

i'm asking this because i'm loosing some time to rename each file before classify it.

so for example with my xerox 6015, i was scanning a first bill (once in recto, once in verso). the file was place in the folder xerox_{date+time} and named img-{date+time1}. i mooved this file in my folder named.... "furniture_bill_2018" for example, then a second bill ( img-{date+time2} ) , and third ( img-{date+time3} ) etc....

with the 6515 i bought for the recto verso mode (to save some time ;) ), i'm scanning a new first bill (new folder xerox{date1+time1} >> 0000001.jpg), move it to my "furniture_bill_2018" folder, then scanning a second bill (new folder xerox{date+time2} >> 000001.jpg) move the file in my "furniture_bill_2018" folder >>> and i must rename it because there is already a first file named 000001.jpg !

with 25 years of document binders to scan with each file to rename may take an eternity !!

if there is no solution, i hope xerox can read it and maybe there will be a new firmware ?

many thanks !

Yes. EWS > Apps > Scan To and scroll down

No idea why they don't put it with the File name entry at the top, From a user friendly workflow, FileName/If file already exists and Add Date to File name should be contained in one entry, or at the very least close to each other.

file name for scanned files ( xerox WC 6515 )

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

hello.

my firt message has been deleted ?... so i post the same thing.

I've got a xerox workcentre6515 and before this one, a xerox workcentre 6015.

with the 6015, my scanned files were named like this: img_181225000000-001.jpg >> {type} _ {date+time} - {number} . {xxx}

1.jpg

with the 6515, there is a folder with 2 dates and all the files scanned are placed in, with file names 0000001.jpg, 000002.jpg... etc

2.jpg

so when i move some files to their own folders, i've got already some other files with the same name.

it's much easier to have files which have the date in the file name than file name are 000000000.jpg because there will never be 2 files at the same date&time in this folder.

So, is there a way for my 6515 to change the names of the files like does my 6015 ?
it should save a lot of my time to prevent rename all the double files.

thank you very much.

please, excuse my english... i'm french ! ;)
