network scanning -Job deleted at users request -xerox 4150

Sorry to hear you are having issues, setting up scanning on your 4150. below is a link to the 4150 support page describing how to setup the scanning to a PC or Mac.

There are 5 related links listed at the bottom of the page. the 4th link in the list is "How To Create a Shared Folder on a Computer" and instructs you to disable/uncheck "Use Simple File Sharing". You can then create the folder share in any directory path you would like. I have my foilder named as "Scan" of the root of C:\.

It appears that at this forum only one answer is delivered to your problem. Taking it or leave it. Well i have finally found the reason for this problem.For other unfortunate people like me who bought the xerox and are suffering please note this problem arise because the file sharing is switched to simple file sharing. you will have to remove the simple file sharing and also you will have to place the storage folder in the root of your window installation. thanks

As i had mentioned to you in my earlier post i have tried all possible options including the one you have suggested ( ip address) but the result is the same. Please advice what could be the reason

Solutions for : Deleted Upon Users Request MessageWhile Scanning Solution : Modify the Network Scanning Repository From Host Name to IP Address

NOTE: Network Scanning is an optional feature, available for the WorkCentre 4150s, 4150x and 4150xf, and can be purchased from your Sales Representative.

1. From the computer, login to CentreWare Internet Services (CWIS). See the Related Items Login CWIS below for additional information. The main CWIS window will be displayed.
2. Click on the [Properties] tab. A list of available items will be displayed on the left side of the window.
3. Click on the [Services] link. A list of available items will be displayed below the link.
4. Click on the [Network Scanning] link. A list of available items will be displayed below the link.
5. Click on the [File Repository Setup] link. A list of available items will be displayed below the link.
6. Click on the [Edit] button, located below the Default File Destinations heading. The Filing Destination window will be displayed.
   
   NOTE: Below the Default File Destinations heading is the option to add or edit up to 3 Alternate File Destinations.
   
   
7. Select the [IP Address] radio button from the Name or IP Address section. This is the IP address of the server to which the scanned images will be saved.
8. Enter the IP address and Port for the required server.
9. Click on [Apply]. If prompted for the Administrator login, type: admin in the Username field and then enter the current Administrator password in the Password field.
   
   NOTE: If you do not know the system password, contact your System Administrator. The initial system password at machine install is '1111'. If the Administrator encounters a problem with changing the password, or forgets the password, a service call must be placed.
10. Close the browser window.

Dear Sir

I have network scanning installed on my mfp ( xerox work centre 4150) but when i am trying to scan to a computer i always get the same message : STATUS: JOB DELETED AT USER´S REQUEST. this is the standard anwer whether i am using smb or ftp.I have tried to use window xp as well as os7 . i have tried all possible combination including those that are obviously wrong but the job status is always the same. please guide me. Looking forward to you advice
