Re: scan to email error on console

Scan to email fail on a 6605.

The machine doesn’t ever seem to actually make an attempt to begin the scan to email process. It immediately gives an error message string on the console saying “Invalid settings” “There is an unauthorized address” “Close”

Re: scan to email error on console

Hi Johnny0000, it typically is the from address the printer is sending from. Many Xerox devices need to use valid from addresses while a lot of older devices do not.

Since you have provided no details about the setup I could also add that the from address may be valid but is not setup to relay on the SMTP server. In this case you would get that error when sending outside the domain. So if it was sending from Fake.email@Johnny0000.com it could not send an email to Some.Random@This-is-fake2.com but could send to Dave@Johnny0000.com

scan to email error on console

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

I have scan to email set up on an MFP.

Valid smtp address, port, and valid recipient address.

However, when I press the start button, an error appears

on the console "Invalid Settings" in yellow title bar, on top.

Body of message says "There is an unauthorized address".

There is a "close" button, on the bottom.

I have a photo of the error message I can send, if helpful.

Will send model number, if needed.

I have two other printers using the same smtp address, and port.

They work with no issues.

Anyone know what the error refers to?

Johnny
