I'm trying to setup scan to e-mail on our new Xerox WorkCentre 7120. It has the latest firmware on it. When I go to send something with scan to e-mail I get an error 016-772 DNS server unsets up in SMTP. I have the correct DNS server info in and I've also tried it with it trying to obtain the DNS automaticly (it comes back with what I had typed int) Any help would be greatly apriciated.
Not sure if you've resolved your problem yet? If you haven't, then you might want to try adding a domain name and not leaving that field blank. Even if you are not on a Domain Controlled network, by adding "WORKGROUP" or "WORKGROUP.LOCAL" should help resolve this issue.
When I setup Scan to Email I like to manually enter the DNS in. You also might want to add a public DNS too just incase your DNS is not working well with your Xerox 7120. ie. 18.104.22.168 or 22.214.171.124 (google's public dns)

connect to aspmx.l.google.com on port 25 and don't enable SSl . You must configure an SPF record for your domain with the IP address of the device or application to ensure that recipients do not reject mail sent from it. You must also add this IP address to the Email Whitelist box in your Google Apps control panel. For example. if your sending device sends from 126.96.36.199, add that address to your SPF record without removing the Google Apps mail servers from the record: v=spf1 ip4:188.8.131.52 include:_spf.google.com ~all
Note : you have to know that the machine should configured with real email ...
so you have to create email address in your google app services
