Re: unencrypted clone file option missing

I'm not part of the Xerox development team but I imagine that the reasoning is improved security. I take it that you would probably like to install a clone file from an older model device onto this newer one and that is no longer possible. That was covered in the initial launch training that I took for the product and it's also referenced in the IAD on the Xerox security site.

Link: Security IAD

Excerpt from IAD:

Certain system settings can be captured (copied) in a clone file that may be installed on other
AltaLink systems. Clone files are encrypted and this AltaLink MFP does not support installing older
clone files created on other Atlantis 1.0 and 1.5 devices.

Not the answer I was hoping for, is there any particular reason for this?

I am sure this option existed previously on the initial  SW build.

The ability to create and install unencrypted clone files has been removed from the new AltaLink 81xx products. You aren't missing anything and we can't change that.

Product Name: Other - specify product in post
Operating System: Windows 10 x64

The pic is of an 80XX which has the unencrypted option, on the new software versions for the 81XX it's missing.

Can it be restored?

thanks
