Hello,
This isn't actually a counter on the machine causing this issue. The machine can only append file names from 001 to 999. Once you reach 999, the printer has no way of creating a 4 digit numerical value. Unfortunately your only options are to move files out of the folder you are scanning to, or create a new subfolder and start scanning to that folder.
Hope this helps.
you can change the descripton from .doc to .docs .. or move the existing .doc to another folder that sould give you another 999 scans
We had a exactly the same problem with scaning on 3550. The numbering reached 999 and then "filname generating limit reached" error was given by the scanner. We have no accounting system set on any of the machines.
Where can this numbering be reset or set at higher limit?
best regards,
Borut.
Hi Cher.Trotter,
Thank you for using the Support Forum. There should not be a stop at 1000 scans unless you have some sort of accounting system set up to limit access to the machine. If you are not aware of any accounting program please consider contacting your support centre for further assistance.
We have reached 1000 on our Scans and it will not let us scan anymore. How do we reset the counter? I have looked online and in the manual, but have had no success. Any help would be greatful!!
Thank you.
