Re: xerox workcentre 3225 - scanning via Wifi Direct

You are probably going to need to ask Xerox Engineering (Call them for support)

I looked everywhere and can't find what Apple Airprint specification is used on any printer Xerox makes or any other company, mostly because I can't find out what Specifications there are from Apple.

Re: xerox workcentre 3225 - scanning via Wifi Direct

I really meant to write "sane version 1.0.23 and sane version 1.0.27", my apologies for misstyping!

By the way does anyone know whether the Xerox Workcentre 3225 is compatible with Airprint specification v. 1.4 or higher?
That might enable me to work out a solution using the eSCL protocol ... any Xerox reps out there willing to shed light on this issue?

Many thanks in advance.

xerox workcentre 3225 - scanning via Wifi Direct

Product Name: WorkCentre 3225
Hello,

a relative of mine has just purchased a Xerox Workcentre 3225 and asked my help to get it going.

His setup: a notebook running under up-to-date Linux Mint 17.1 32-bit on which I installed the latest available version of Xerox drivers for such a mfp (version 1.00.25:00.05 of 15 october 2014).

Everything worked smoothly (both under sane version 1.0.0.23 and sane version 1.0.0.27), except for scanning to his notebook via wifi direct (I used a sane frontend called Simple Scan, but using other frontends did not make any difference).

I do not think that there is any misconfiguration (either on the printer or on his notebook) because scanning via wifi direct succeeds if performed using Hamrick's Vuescan instead (without changing any of the settings on either the printer or the notebook).

My question is: is there a bug in Xerox drivers or the sane backend they rely on is still lacking such a functionality (ie. scanning via wifi direct)?

Many thanks in advance for any hints/tips about this matter.
