There's an example of this workflow in the FFCore EasyStart workflows available at xerox.com. That example uses MAX for the variables in the banner page but you can do the same thing using JDF variables. I would ensure you are running v4 SP1 (aka v4.0.1.0) as that version includes new JDF variables that can be added to the banner page.
The workflow in general is pretty straight forward. After other prepress has been done:
Once you have submission working between XMPie and FFCore I would suggest reaching out to your xerox analyst for help in building the workflow. If needed they can reach out to me.
Hi Javier
Thanks for getting back to me about the JDF functions. This is what I have focused on and I am making progress with the help of XMPie!
I was wondering if you have any information on creating a banner page at the start of a document so the print operators know what it is that has printed ?
I seem to be having a lot of troubles.
Thanks
Alison
Typically the options selected in uStore would be mapped to JDF output which is submitted to FFCore. FFCore in turn would consume the JDF output to define job ticketing for the printer.
I would suggest starting with uStore and working your way one component at a time until you get to the printer. If you need assistance, I would suggest contacting XMPie as they would know how to configure uStore to generate the expected JDF output.
Hi
I was wondering if someon could give me some advice / help. My situation is this
I want a customer to be able to order a product at anytime of day or night and upon placing the order the document is automatically printed with no human intervention. What is the best way to set this automation up ?
I have the following software/devices:
Freeflow Core 3.0.1.3
uStore v8.1
Xerox Docucolor 770 with EFI fiery
The product itself is a very simple one, it is basically an A4 manual, printed in mono or colour, printed on 80gsm. The things that could change would be the page count and total copies. The customer would upload their document to uStore and then the product would go through the uStore order queue (automatically) and then print automatically and provide a banner sheet so the pdf filename is referenced for the print finishers to know which job it is.
I hope I ahve given enough information, any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
